Mike was born in California, but raised in England by a powerhouse team of a mum and several aunts (think Little Women, but with a lot more wine and sarcasm). At eighteen, he set off on a globetrotting journey that led him to Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Australia, and the Americas—exploring a diverse range of cultures, collecting stories, scars, and a few questionable tattoos along the way.

After years of wrangling claim documents and expert reports in the international construction industry, Mike traded hard hats for hammocks in 2024. Now based in Costa Rica, he’s finally doing what he loves most: writing fiction… and pretending not to surf like an old man.
